Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is proud to announce the dates for the 9th annual event! This unique, exciting, and delicious dessert filled week will take place Monday, May 5th through Sunday, May 11th at participating establishments in the Boston and Greater Boston Area.
In cooperation with Boston Magazine, the Professional Pastry Guild of New England, Charles River Publishing and Fox 25 Morning News; "Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer", a special dessert promotion, was designed to remember the special women in our lives. We’re proud to have Kim Carrigan (at left) as the spokesperson for our event once again, and recognize her for her commitment to the fight against breast cancer. Restaurants, bakeries, and cafes from around the Boston area are asked to dedicate one dessert off their menu to serve as the special Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer dessert. Participating establishments direct 100% of proceeds from the sales of the specific dessert to breast cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In the past eight years, Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer has raised close to $190,000 of which 100% of the funds raised went directly to the cause. Please help us reach the $250,000 mark in 2008! Join us as we make "dessert" history! With your help and support "Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer" will be a huge success. Visit these wonderful restaurants as often as often as you'd like. Sample the creations of Boston's finest Pastry chefs and help us to find a cure for this disease that affects so many women we know and love.
